HistoryAnime-ethereals I first started to learn about HTML after a tragic inccident. (_~_) Right after that, I decided it's time to code my own things now, instead of using templates all the time. My brother bought an HTML beginners guide book home, while still working on his Warcraft stratergy guide site. I began using it, and coded layouts with MS Paint. =B That was when I didn't use CSS. CxSoon, my brother brought in the magnificant Photoshop 9 CS2, which then changed course entirely to goals and ambitions. With the help of many site tutorials, I was able to use many techniques to buffen up my creations. But they still not good enough to meet my expectations. I knew that practice was the way to do it, but then it would be pointness to make things that I'm the only one who's going to see. Then, web designing came in mind. To show all of my work to others and to increase my abilites. I used Freewebs to host my first site: Anime-ethereals. The name ethereals came from the game Warcraft 3, from Spirit Walker's ability: ethereal form. But really in grammer situations, ethereal can't be plural (_____~_). It became an Inuyasha fan listing, but then it didn't work right and it died a month later. Next i did a graphic site, with my new staff member Kelsmister. We had it get going on track and even had several affiliates. It was a really small graphic site, with avatars, blogs, activites, etc. Then, I did a big link change. Taking out the unnecessary links and added all kinds of graphic links. Time went by and we grew on to many pages and that it took forever to update every page. So, we moved host to Kylosa, who provides PHP includes, that saved our lives. Kelleh, soon joined our group as another staff member. Having Kylosa as our host, our designs improved rapidly. Experimenting with CSS has extended my knowledge as well, which then I used headers every since. =D After sometime, Kelsmister and Kelleh became into conflict. >.>;; And both left their position as staff members, leaving me hanging. Then, Kylosa had an incident that lost all of the site's files. The maker of Kylosa said that he didn't want the site anymore, and shut down more than 5000 hosted sites. Now finally, moved on to Oniyuri, another graphic site such as mine. Such an improvement overwhelmed me. Even though Kelsmister and Kelleh left, I prefer to be by myself than having others working with me now. :D Art Afficionados Afficionados - noun, plural { uh-fish-yuh-nah-doh }
Now that I've gone bored of the name Anime-ethereals, might as well change names to Art Afficionados. I didn't like the name because it sounds really cheesy and primary. Here is a list of site names I came upon that I put into consideration: Hairaito Designs
Black Kanraku
Art Afficionados
gave them a right to... ostracize out of the woodwork... art aficionados answer one question... LePotato.net I can't tell you how long I;ve been waiting to get a domain name. Just somewhere at the end of Anime-ethereals' time I started to want a domain name. Anyways, my dad kindly accepts the payment and paid $100(CA)/2 years, which is way better than the other hosts that overprices them.Why have I changed names again? Because I know how loads of people, even my affiliates xD, still can't even pronounce it (took me a while until I can -.-;;). Plus it really didn't sound that very professional. So, what name did I want? A very random and unique. You see tons of sites that likes to end with the word 'Designs', and have Japanese names for their sites. However in a lot of times I like sticking out of the crowd, making me feel different than the others. xDD If you haven't already know, Le in French translate to The (why French? Who knows. Don't even like French :D). I had some inspiration from Pootato.org. ^^ Potato FTW! |
